Speakers

There will be three short talks on the night across three broad areas.


Design | Penny Hagen
Penny (@pennyhagen) believes in a participatory approach to the design of process, strategy, products and services. Penny is the User Experience Director at leading digital agency DAN in Auckland. In addition to her design consulting work, Penny teaches design thinking to business students at AUT and last year finished her PhD on the impact of social technologies on the design process.


Technical | Selena Dewar
Selena (@selenadewar) is passionate about great code, strong leadership, good strategies and fostering high performing teams. Selena is the Software Development Manager for tvnz.co.nz and TVNZ Ondemand.


Business | Erica Lloyd
As the Director of Communications at Datacom, Erica (@ericalloyd) is a communications professional with a serious tech-bent. She has run her own tech business in the film industry, worked as news and current affairs producer and an on air business journo, and done loads of multichannel PR including building from scratch social media capability for a bank.

There are 60 tickets available – they’re $15 each.

Although our name suggests this event is only for women, our speakers are so great that everyone will want to come.  We’ve  got a limited number of tickets available for our male colleagues and friends as well, but you’ll have to be quick!

We use Lil Regie, a NZ-based online registration system. They’ll take your payment securely by credit card.

Venue

Generator is located in a fantastic heritage office space – they’re at 22-28 Customs Street East, just around the corner from Shaky Isles in the Auckland CBD. The entrance is right next to Cafe Hanoi and opposite Xu Xu.

It’s a minute’s walk from the train and across the road from the ferry. There’s free parking for your bike or scooter and they’re surrounded by carparks.

Timing

Doors will open at 6pm. There will be sushi and a selection of drinks served until the speakers start at 6.45pm. A cash bar will also operate for the evening if you’re after a beverage which isn’t on offer.

The three speakers should conclude by about 7.30 and we’ll wrap up at 8pm.
